How To Send An SMS Notification

You can send an SMS notification from IVM or Eyeline directly to a cell phone with text messaging. In your favorite search engine, search for 'email to SMS gateways complete list' to find out if your cell phone service already has an SMS Gateway.

If not, you need to register with an SMS Gateway service. These are online services that will forward SMS messages to mobile phones. Generally these are commercial and you have to pay for each message. Some services are:

There are many others, try searching using your preferred search engine for SMS Gateway.

1. IVM Setup

Under Mailbox Properties, check Send To Email. Remove all the other ticks (ie do not send the audio). Click on Email Settings. For the services listed below set the Subject, Body and email address as listed. Download IVM Now.

2. EyeLine Setup

Under Options > Motion, select 'Email motion detection notifications'. Click on Email Settings. For the services listed below set the Subject, Body and email address as listed. Download Eyeline Now.
