How to get the elapsed time of the dictation recording from Express Scribe and insert this time into the transcription
First create a new Hot Key in Express Scribe and associate this key with the "Copy Time" command:
- Go to the Express Scribe Options window and select the Hot-Keys tab.
- Click the Add button under the "Key assignment" heading.
- Click the Change button, and press the key combination that you will use for the command - for example, Ctrl+G, and then select the Copy Time option from the drop-down list.
- Click the OK button on the Select Command window to complete the Hot Key assignment.
Now whenever you need to add the current elapsed time of the dictation to the transcribed document, just press the Hot Key combination for Copy Time to copy the dictation file's current elapsed time to the Clipboard. You then paste this time into the transcribed document's text with a Ctrl+V (insert) at the position you want the time to appear.
