Encoder Options for ALAC Files

ALAC (.caf) files are encoded using the open source Apple Lossless Audio Codec. This is a lossless codec, which means no data is lost during the compression process - making this a viable format for audio archiving.

Please note that we use the source file's sample rate/channels for the converted file.

Format

Using the format pull down list, select your desired combination of sample rate, channels, and bit depth. The default is 44,100 Hz, Stereo, 16-bit, which is equivalent to CD audio quality.
