New Encoder Options

In our new encoder settings dialog, the following video formats use the same settings:

MP4, M4V, MOV, MKV, WEBM, OGG, RM, SWF, FLV

Output Format

Select your output format from the pulldown menu and then click on Encoder Options to select your Audio/Video encoding settings. For example, selecting the FLV video format:

Video Settings

Select your video codec (compressor), in this case FLV1 or H264 (the available codecs will vary according to the video file format that you've selected)

Video Quality/Bitrate:

The image reproduction quality level. High Quality generates an output video with the maximum quality of reproduction resulting in the largest file size. Very Low Quality gives minimum quality of reproduction with the smallest file size. There are also preset bitrates that can be selected (40000 kbps, 250000 kbps, 10000 kbps, etc.)
Note: The quality settings selected for one format will become the default settings for any other format that you use.

Audio Settings

Select your audio codec (compressor), in this case MP3 or AAC (the available audio codecs will vary according to the video file format that you've selected)

Audio Quality/Bitrate:

As with video, you can specify the bitrate that the audio will be encoded at. The higher the value the better the quality of sound.
Note: Again, as with the video settings, the quality and channel settings selected for one format will become the default settings for any other format that you use. Also note that for the "preferred channel numbers", some codecs have a limitation on the maximum number of channels supported. For example, MP3 supports up to 2 channels.
