Q. What do I need for on-hold messages? (Phone System Requirements)
If you already have something on-hold then you know you have the capabilities. The player supplied by NCH Swift Sound should just plug in.

If you have a telephone system (a key system or PABX), does it have the facility to put callers on-hold? If yes it should have a message on hold (MOH) socket on or near the phone system box. If in doubt check the manual of your phone system, contact the suppliers of your phone system or ask us.

If you do not have a telephone system and use a direct phone line then you will need to purchase a single line on-hold adapter. This adapter lets you put calls onhold using any phone (you can pick it up on other extensions too). This adapter costs $285 + GST. If you need this, just note this on your order form and we will supply the unit for you.

Q. What does the On-Hold Messages Production Service include?
The Capital Sound and Voice on-hold message service includes everything needed for a complete On Hold Message Package for your business:
  • Creative scripting;
  • Professional voicing;
  • Music licenses;
  • Studio production;
  • Digital messaging equipment;
  • Delivery; and,
  • Technical and installation support.
We aim to produce a quality product with an emphasis on precise and effective scripting, trained voice talent, a selection of good music, an all digital studio and state of the art messaging equipment.

Q. How long does it take to set up?
We have a maximum 7 day turnaround from final approval of script to dispatch of the production to you.

Q. Which is the right player equipment option for me?
If you have a Windows computer near your phone system with an available sound card we recommend the IMS computer controlled on-hold player. The IMS offers many advanced features such as message scheduling, internet updates, user control and more without any extra cost.

If you do not have a Windows computer then you need to consider how important date-time sensitive material is to your business. If it is critical either install another PC or use our On-Hold Station.

If you do not have a computer and date-time scheduling is not important, we recommend you use the CD player option.

Q. Problems when downloading the order form.
The order form is in pdf format. To access it download and install a copy of Adobe Acrobat Reader from www.adobe.com.

Alternatively, email us at anne.clarke@nchsoftware.com with your business name and fax number, and we will fax you a copy of the form.
