Can I split large MP3 files into smaller tracks and burn to CD?

Yes, you can do this using the Auto Split function under the Edit menu.

Alternatively, you can move through the file finding the beginning and end of each item.  Select the item and define it as a "region".   When you copy the regions to a CD they will be copied as separate tracks.  Also download Slice Audio File Splitter to compare.
