SIP Service Providers - BBPGlobal

BBPGlobal is an Australian company that offers both free and paid services. Their free service lets you call other BBPGlobal or VoIP users from PC to PC, and lets others call you from a landline phone if they dial through a BBPGlobal gateway first.

Their paid service lets you choose from Australian, Auckland or Toronto phone numbers. You pay them a low fixed annual fee for your account, and then after that you pay for any call costs incurred. The benefit of the free - paid service is that you can signup for the free service, try it out and when you are happy with it just add money and get a phone number.

Notes:

- To dial PSTN numbers from a BBPGlobal number, you must dial 0 + international code for that country + local area code + phone number. This applies even if you are calling within your same city.
e.g. To dial the number 6666-6666 in Canberra, Australia, you would dial 0 61 2 66666666, where 61 is the international code for Australia and 2 is the area code for Canberra.

To find the international code for a country, see here: http://www.infobel.com/cobra/InterDial/default.asp.
