RecordPad Sound Recorder - Why do I receive this message: "RecordPad cannot open the sound device for recording"?

You need to select the correct Sound Record Device.

Click the Options button on the toolbar
Go to the Record tab
Ensure that your Record Device is set to a valid sound card or default sound in and not your modem or another device
Click the OK button
