How do I select the portion of the audio file that I want to fade in or fade out?

  1. Click and drag with your mouse to select the area of the clip that you want to fade in or out
  2. The selected area will be highlighted, confirm that it is correct, then click Fade on the Effects tab toolbar
  3. Select Fade in, Fade out, Fade out and trim, or Crossfade based on your needs
  4. If you listen to the Fade and decide you want to change it, use the Undo button on the Home tab
  5. Then make a new selection and click Fade

Please note: If you need the ability edit your Fade Points at a later time, use the Envelope tool on the Effects tab toolbar to set them.
