The volume is too loud or too soft

You will need to set the volume in Express Scribe options. Express Scribe overrides the Windows Volume Control setting.

• Click the Options button on the toolbar
• Go to the Playback tab
• Increase or decrease the Volume level: using the slider
• Click OK to save your new settings

Ensure that your speakers or headphones are plugged into the speaker-out socket (not the line-out socket), are turned on, and have the volume turned up. Some speakers have their own physical volume control which you can turn up.

If none of the above solves your problem, we suggest you purchase amplified speakers or headphones for your PC.
