When I press a certain key in another program, Express Scribe opens or appears.

You might have accidentally set the key as a hot-key to open Express Scribe while working in your word-processor.

To remove a hot-key:

1. Click the Options button on the toolbar
2. Go to the Hot-Keys tab
3. Select the Open Express Scribe item from the list
4. Click the Change button
5. Enter a new hot-key to use for opening Express Scribe
6. Click OK to save your changes
