VoIP Call Recording: Options Compared
Comparison Table
Where calls are recorded from
The call recording program can be installed on either the user's computer or on another network or server computer. Where the program is installed determines who has control over the recording. If installed on a user's computer, then the user will have control. If installed on another network or server computer, then the Administrator of the network will have control. You should choose from user-based recording or network-based recording depending on who you would prefer to have call recording control.

Where calls are tapped from
Where the call recording program is installed determines at what point in the phone line that the call is tapped and recorded. If installed on a user's computer, then the call is tapped at the user's end of the phone line and does not interfere with the quality of the conversation. If installed on a network or server computer, then the call is tapped in the middle of the phone line and causes some loss in quality of the conversation. If you are fussy about an Administrator having control of your call recordings then you should select tapping from the middle of the line. If you are not fussy, however, then you should select tapping from the end of the line for better quality audio recordings.
