Axon is a virtual PBX for Windows or Linux designed to manage calls in a business or call center. Any business, whether small or large, can now implement a scalable VoIP based PBX by installing this software on any PC. The software works as a fully featured telephone switch connecting to phone lines and extensions using state-of-the-art VoIP technology.
Offering all the normal features of a traditional PBX such as allowing internal or external calls and more advanced call queuing for call center applications the software routes all calls within a business.
Axon can also be used in conjunction with our other telephony software including or On-Hold Messages System, Voice Call Recording Software, Call Attendant, Voice Mail and IVR Software or Internet Phone. This software is designed to be very easy and intuitive to use. Within minutes you will be able to setup the software and start making phone calls. We make Axon free in the hope that you will upgrade to Axon Plus which features unlimited extensions and external lines.

Features
- Manages telephone calls within a business.
- All routing of calls are digital over the computer network (or even a wireless network).
- Unlimited number of extensions or external lines (Windows Plus Edition and Linux version only).
- Automatic "one-click" installer to setup the PBX software in just minutes. Does not require detailed technical setup.
- All configuration is done using a web-like control panel through your internet browser so it can be done remotely.
- Supports all the standard PBX features like call transfer, hold, and record.
- Includes a call queue sequencer with voice prompting and on-hold messages player
- Sends audio as higher priority packets on both ethernet and internet so your normal data will not interfere with voice transmission.
- Supports MD5 security authentication.
- Links directly to VoIP services for your external lines. See Recommended VoIP Gateways for more information.
- Uses the open SIP standard for signaling (RFC 3261) so it works with the broad range of SIP compatible phones and other devices.
- Supports video (H263, H261) for Express Talk Softphone or USB and IP Video Phones.
- Supports the international standard Session Initiation Protocol for VoIP (RFC 2543 and RFC 3261).

- Axon automatically detects and configures the following applications for a full telephony system:
- If no VoIP services are available can also link to multiple external analogue PSTN lines with Carousel Virtual FXO and a CAHTA Professional Telephony Board or a single line FXO hardware adapter.

System Requirements
Computer or Server
- Windows 95/NT4/98/2000/Me/XP/2003/Vista
- Linux GTK 2.08 or Later
- Pentium 500MHz or above with at least 16MB RAM (32MB for 2000/XP)
- Computer network (any IP network).
- Broadband Internet Connection (for external VoIP lines).
Extensions Requirements
- SIP Standard VoIP (RFC 2543 or RFC 3261)
- Must support symmetric UDP signaling and audio with reINVITEs.
Typically extensions are either VoIP phones, computer based softphones or hybrid softphone with USB phone combinations. For testing, before you buy VoIP phones, we recommend you use the Express Talk Softphone.
External Lines Requirements
VoIP Lines **
- SIP Standard VoIP (RFC 2543 or RFC 3261).
- Gateway provider must support H263, H261 for Video.
- Must provide SIP proxy server, username and password.

Traditional Analog Lines
- SIP based FXO adapter for each line.
- SIP Standard VoIP (RFC 2543 or RFC 3261).
** Unless you have existing lines, the preferred option will always be VoIP lines. Companies offer VoIP numbers in almost all cities of developed countries these days. They are better quality, cheaper and you don't require any special hardware because calls are routed over the internet.
